[question] How to enable shadow in png materials?

Hi,
I am using a png file as a material, It is a good vay to reduce size of project but the problem is it doesn't has any shadows, Does anybody knows how to cast shadows for png materials that have transparent in some part of them?

I looked up on the Internet and I have found this already, I think this post has a solution for my problem but last two pictures are missed, here it is:

I watched this video and I wanna to say it is great tutorial but I have problem with it,If I use a png tree it is very hard to shape a geometry like tree to cast shadow ..Is there any way to do that?

Yes the shadows won't look great because there is no real geometry to produce them - a simple solution would be to to place two PNG's in the same location with 90 degree angle between them.
The result won't be astonishing you could give it a try - for more realistic results it would be better to use a geometry-tree.
