  • How to get a Smooth Surface when "Initial Fill Up" checked?

    Hi there,

I love this tool! Amazing Progress on the Liquids!

My question regards the behavior of the liquid surface in the first couple of frames of the sim. Initial fill-up is set and there is no Displacement or Interation. All I want is to generate a flat water surface.

Sometimes it works, the initial surface seems to be smooth. But sometimes at the edges of the surface plane waves are generated and the surface is in motion. Liquid doesn't seem to be distributed evenly. It looks like some water is moving towards the edges to fill up a vacuum. I wonder what causes that..

How can I make sure my liquid surface is perfectly smooth in the beginning of a simulation?

I hope this one is easy. Would be thankful for answers.

this is because the initial fill up can't fill the container with liquid in perfect equilibrium.
beside the velocity we have some hidden internal values which is hard to predict. we have some inexact prediction, that significantly decreases the initial disturbance, but still it exists.
you just have to wait several frames until the liquid reaches fully steady state.

      Thanks for the quick reply.
I was just wondering how come that it seems to be in perfect equilibrium at the subway sample scene. I was hoping there is a method to adress these disturbances, now hoping there will be - so I can create these puddles I am working on. Anyways great progress with the last update, now hoping the best for the next.
