  • Issues with demo version

I am a VRay user working in architectural visualisation and we have a potential need for some fluid simulation in a project. I thought I would try out Phoenix FD to see if it was suitable.

I downloaded the demo (phoenixFD_demo_21010_max2012_vray_24_x64.exe) to try and assess the software but I had the following issues.

    1) The installer did not give a default for Max Design 2012. I had to manually find the max root dir and plugins dir. This was easily fixed but annoying.
    2) I have tried two of the sample files, "beer.max" and "ink_in_water.max" both do not simulate and I get the following error: "Can't simulate more than 2000 000 cells in the demo version" Does this mean I need to resize the grid in each example scene before I can test the software? Am I missing some demo scene files or something?

    Thanks,

    -Rob

the max design issue is already reported, we will fix it at some moment.
the samples are in high resolution, because many less experienced customers are using them directly as starting point for production setups. just decrease the resolution, see the grid panel and use the decrease button
