  • Problems installing V-ray

    Hello, I am a new user of v-ray and in the office they have just bought it. I have installed v-ray and the WibuKey successfully, but when I open sketchup I get a box with the following message: "Unable to checkout V-Ray GUI license-ensure your license server is running and you have GUI licenses available."
    I use iMac, does anyone knows what can I do to fix the problem???

    Hello QBICO-

    If you have followed the installation and troubleshoot steps from the installation manual then it's likely that your dongle has not been programmed before it was shipped to you. You can check this by going to http://localhost:30304 in a webrowser. If you do not see a license for V-Ray for SketchUp 2.0 we'll have to reprogram your dongle. Please follow the reprogramming steps outlined in the installation manual and our support team will send you a new license file as soon as possible.

        Having been through this recently I can say that it's not as big a problem as it sounds. The reseller I bought my upgrade from didn't install the license before shipping it out. Once the problem was analyzed it was a simple matter of opening a file Corey sent to me. Nothing to it.

            The dongle is activated (and stick into my computer) but I´ve the same problem on my mac.

            Bring out a new dongle system and let the users lost without simple understanding to-do-steps to run Vray after dongle registration
            I thought --> stick in the dongle -> run SU --> Vray (wibukey funktion process) start automaticly --> working with VraySU after then.

            But that´s not the case. What to do ?

              Find the solution

              IT WAS MY FAULT -forget to adjust the firewall on my mac.

              Now it´s running!

                No luck with the firewall (thats not the reason), the problems stays and Vray get the message: "Unable to checkout V-Ray GUI license-ensure your license server is running and you have GUI licenses available."

                What must i do ?

                  Thanks! it is Fix already!
                  Delete the Vray with all the component from our PC and restart it.
                  Then Download and update the dongle new software and installed it to the dongle.
                  Last step is just install the Vray...
                  Plug the vray dongle and open the sketchup..

                  Lets Rock!

                      Hy Thomas,

                      You just need to update the dongle software and email it to chaos and they will reply your email with the new software..
                      Just open the file and update...( dont forget to plug your dongle)
                      Thats it.

                        a very big thanks for the "dongle software update" tip --> that solve the problem nicely

                        Now, it works as expected ! Starting SU --> Vray is enabled and all starts automatically


                        Note for chaos group:
                        I think, if/when I get the WibuKey installer package originally from chaos group beside their own Vray2 installer as a original product bundle package.
                        Then I thought it´s the newest and suitable WibuKey installer for running a fine complete Vray+WibuKey first time installation/or upgrade
                        (specially when there is NO urgent HINT like -> "to look first if the WibuKey installer, we send you is the really newest for your system")!!!

                        Only this cost me hoers and days to figure out, where the issue is!
                        At least it is so simple. I would wish a better communication between the needed infos from chaos group.

                        ONLY WITH YOUR HELP INFO STEP GUIDE --> THE PROBLEM COULD SOLVED AT LEAST

                            HELP!!!! I'm having an issue that's I'm not sure where to post so I'm taking a chance here. I have sent in the wbc file required to update the dongle and today is the 3rd day with no answer. I'm quite desperate. I opened a ticket just now (ticket #904322) but I can't wait 2 or 3 days to get an answer. I already lost one project because of all the issues I've had with the installation process.
