Hey guys.
I'm using vRay for Maya and when trying to displace a surface using a projected texture it doesn't seem to work.
I tried doing it in a very simple scene/setup too:
geo - plane
shader - vrayMtl
displacement - maya 2D texture Checker created as a projection and applied to the shader
vRay attribute - To the plane.shape added Attribute: vRay Displacement control and Subdivision and displacement quality
As the same setup with the checker mapped in UV space works fine I assume displacement trough projected texture is not currently supported? Or is there anything else I need doing?
It looks to me that the displacement is computed before the shadders so by the time the shadder calls the projection the geo displacement step has already be done - Might that be why? If so is there a way around it?
Thank you in advance,
Pedro
