Hi all,
I'm rendering out an animation in Maya with Vray. I already have rendered out the prepass (Animation prepass - mode). When I was rendering the prepass, vray only used about 17 to 20% of my CPU and I thought that was probably normal with the prepass. (it took 2 days)
When I now try to render in the "animation (rendering)" mode, vray uses 17 to 20% as well. So I now know that this is wrong. Renders are taking 1 tot 1.2 hours instead of 10 minutes.
My system:
i7-3930k (6 cores, 12 threads)
GTX 770
Asus P9-X79 Pro
32 Gb DDR3-1866
Windows 8.1 pro 64bit
When I set the mode to Single frame, it uses the full 100% of my CPU.
I made sure that under settings "max render threads" is set at 12 and "low thread priority" is disabled. Both did nothing.
How can I speed up the batch render? I have 1020 frames to be rendered and with a hour per frame at least... it's going to take at least 43 days...
