  • PhoenixFD for collision sim?

    Heya

I was wondering are there any plans to introduce collision engine to phoenixFD? So we can destroy stuff and get smoke and other effect happening at the same time? - just wondering

You can make for example collapsing building with what ever solver (DMM,Rayfire, Bullet...) and after that emit from these object or caches to get smoke, fire etc. Also you can make them to fall and then place a Phoenix water under it and having great splashes.
Support for rigid body simulations (this might be what you mean?) is under consideration if I have understand correct. This is essential for having stuff collapsing and floating on/under the water by the velocity of the fluid sim.

      Heya

Humh well I know there is DMM, Rayfire and others but they are so random and not standardized so I thought if chaos can make complete pipeline, smoke, fire, water, sim - then there is not much else left right? I had in mind to get the physics like RealFlow that we can get with bodies and so on.

Rigid body simulation humh maybe that's it? Not sure but thanks for info

yes, there are such plans. we understand the need of such abilities, perhaps connection to existing engines will be provided, instead to write our rigid body simulator.
