Hi Vlado,
I have tried the option available for the filtered fragments.
Although it improves and reduces the edge artifacts it introduces some other issues.
In general I didn't find a setup that works for me.
I have gone through most of the combinations and tried to use them with the Zdefocus node in Nuke but I still can't get a nice transition of Dof from foreground to background and vice versa.
I have tried doubling the resolution, clamping, unclamping, filtering, unfiltering, inverting the z-depth and saving in full 32 bit but the improvements are subtle and don't fix the jagged edges.
Someone suggests to break the shot in foreground and background but I have seen breakdown of shots well done from vray and nuke without having to separate them.
My shot isn't anything complex, and what I am trying to achieve is a dof transition as good as in Alex Roman's The 3rd and the 7th.
I reckon he uses AE and lenscare though but should this make a difference?
Kind Regards,
Giacomo.
