  • vray output to nuke question

Hi, I want to output my image and it's render Elements as seperate images but I want the Elements to be in their correct Elements layer in nuke.
A reflection pass for example would on be viewable if I shuffle it in nuke back to RGB or change the viewer to see it. Currently they are all named correctly but are all in RGB viewer.

Is this possible, and hope it makes sence.

    If not another example is:

When we output the image and elements as one exr the elements are viewable only if shuffled or if the viewer is changed to their layer. I want it the same but as seperate images.

    Thanks

This sounds more like a Nuke-script-request rather than V-ray.
When Vray exports multichannel-EXR file it places the Beauty-pass into rgb-channel and all other channels are named according render-element-names, however if each render-element is exported separately it goes directly into rgb-channel.

You correct, but when using renderman or Mantra they can be left in there correct channels rather than being put into the rgb channel. Can it be told to leave them in their correct channels?

Thanks for getting back to me.

Currently there is no way to tell Vray to export separate render elements into different than RGB-channel but I could make a feature request about it.
However I am not sure if this is going to work for the people who prefer using RBG-channel instead of custom-ones.
