  • rendering 1+ bil trias meshes

Hi all, im searching for a way to render out really big meshes, starting from 1 bil trias and up to 10+ possibly. The model can be exported from our app as single model or cut to parts, that every part have max 10 mil trias. im know the Xref VRMESH way, but its possible to use eventually even LOD system ??

Or its here a better way to render this sort of data ??

my PC have 256 Gb ram so that will be not a problem....

    best over Max Vray....

The .vrmesh approach will probably work fine; of course LOD levels would be best, I don't know if there is a tool to generate good LOD levels. The point clouds in .vrmesh files might also be useful (they do support LOD for meshes that are far away).

    Best regards,
    Vlado

      Thanx for fast reply Vlado...
We will test it with parts, as the one model took 30 min to render if whole model is on screen, if zoomed then it go down to 3 minutes. what im have observed the model is loaded to ram and then rendered, its plausible to think thath for animation rendering it will cut times on 2nd and forward image as it have model data ( xref vrmesh ) loaded to RAM already ?? later can supply some images on what possible to render out ? Mostly laser and photogrammetry reconstructed 3D models of buildings and castles...
