  • Vray Physical Camera Grid - how to turn it off?

    Hi there!


    I was wondering, is there a way to hide the grid of the vray camera while keeping the cone shown?
    Reduce the number of lines on that grid would also help!

    Much appreciated.

    Hi,

    There is now option to do this directly, but you can do something to get the required effect, if it is important for your setup.
    *) switch the viewport to the V-Ray Physical camera
    *) enable Show safe frame
    *) create 4 very small dummy objects in the corners of the screen
    *) then connect the camera pivot point to the 4 dummy objects using lines

      Seems like a workable idea, Thankyou! The problem is my camera's FOV is animated, which would complicate this setup. I already messed around in the wire parameter with a similiar setup to get the FOV value connected to the scale of a rectangle. I ended up now switching to the original 3dsMax camera but using Vray Exposure Settings.
      Another advantage of the standard 3dsMax Camera is that it's cone has the right aspect ratio (the one I adjust in the render settings). Maybe I missed something, but I actually only achieved this with a V-Ray Physical Cam by scaling down the local Z axis of the camera to 0.57 (I am using Vray 2.5).

        Actually yes, this setup is not really helpful for animated camera.
        However, glad to hear that the native 3DS max camera with V-Ray exposure can do the job.

        About the issue with V-Ray Physical camera cone update when the output resolution has been changed, we would like to inform you that it has this fixed in version 3.
