You need to do it on the object that is reflective. So you select the mirror, vray object properties... ...reflection exclude the object you don't want to see in the reflection.

        Hi,

Would it be possible to explain a bit more what is the result you are trying to get?
Can you post a scene file or an image?

Sorry i cant post a scene file but it is like this, i have a group with just window glass inside and another group inside a building with chairs, when i open the glass group and select the specific glass i want to not show the reflection of the chair on and i select the exclude options and select the chair nothing happens, it stil shows the reflections, similar for the refractions. only way i can get it to work is to use the 3ds max options and select dont show reflections but i doubt this is correct way, better to exclude from certain object than all object. maybe its a issue with groups only?

Would you please recreate the same setup in a new scene and post it here. It will help us to identify the issue you have.
