  • Slower render nodes

    should rendering with slower machines make the overall render slower in a distributive rendering setup? when i say slower i mean slower like 4 times slower machine being used with a i7 5960
    Intel core i7-5960x cpu @3 GHz, GeForce GTX 970

    It would be strange. But it's hard to say what's going on with the little info you provided. Are you using bucket mode or progressive?

      Bucket mode, but i wanted to know in general if renderings will be slower that way, i havent tested it so i can't say but was a question asked by a friend of mine and i had no answer really

          interesting! i guess it will only be slower if it hangs or doesn't render as fast as the faster machine, then if its say stuck on few buckets and the faster machine has already cleared its buckets up then in that case its a disadvantage to use a slower machine
