show preview when rendering on a farm

Hi guys, first post on 3dsmax section \o/,

Here at my company we rendering on farm.
We want to view the progress of the rendering like imf_disp.exe for mentalray.
I saw on the forum that it is possible to do that with vrimg.
But when the picture is rendering, and i open the vrimg with Vray framebuffer, i have a nice black screen ^^;.

Is it normal ? Is there a work around for that ?

Hi,

You can't open the file while V-Ray still accessing it. What you can do is to copy the current rendering stage of the vrimg file to another location or with different name in the same folder. Then you'll be able to open and preview the image.
