  • openVDB Display Channel

    Hi,
Using Maya 2016 with Vray 3.1 here..In VrayVolumeGrid where is the option to display density & other channel in viewport ??
And is it possible to render Velocity, Position, Normal, Etc. pass for openVDB stuff ??

In 3.1, there is no grid visualization except the bounding box. Visualization for the grid content will be implemented in the next service pack.
You can render all passes, but some of them require the "volumetric geometry" rendering mode which causes the volume to present itself as geometry to V-Ray.

We are not able to provide any time-frames before the official release.
What Ivaylo mentioned is if some of the channels are not rendered correctly you have to switch Render Mode option to Volumetric Geometry.

So, what is stopping you ... The 3.1 limitation was just that a full viewport preview is missing...

spriteNumPP is almost ready, but wasn't able to make it for 3.3. Most probably in the next SP.
