  • Phoenix FD Simulator Issue

When using the simulator, following the 'Ship' tutorial on YouTube,
the outer edges of my simulator box seem to have this strange drop in liquid after a few inches, and the entire mesh that I see for the simulation seems to be creating an initial wave that evens out over time.
This wave is the width of the simulation and starts at the front. Almost like the entire simulator is simulating water inside of a box.

    Any thoughts?

in almost all the cases you have to adjust the the mesher ocean level to match exactly the simulation, because ina almost all cases the ocean level has small shift in certain direction, up or down, you have to compensate it by the mesher ocean level value.
beside this, you have to wait relatively big count of frames when simulation moving ships, in order to reach stable simulator state, in the ship scene this count is 200, but it depends on the ship speed. in all the cases it can't be less than the time needed to travel the simulator length.

In my opinion you commit an error. I can defend the position. Write to me in PM, we will talk.

        Hey Alyssa555Mn,

From your images, it looks like you may increase your grid resolutio -n it seems a bit low to me. How many cell do you have? Increasing the resolution might help a bit.

As Ivaylo said, currently you need to wait for a while until the liquid settles. As soon as we have a viable solution to this, we will implement it, but for now you have to work around it if it happens.

        Cheers!
