  • Try to make Seascapes in Maya

    Hi !

I already experienced the OceanTexture in Max to make this incredible shots from Peter Guthrie and it worked very well.

I try to make the same thing in Maya with the last Phoenix FD version. I watched this video to copy and adjust the parameter in Maya : https://vimeo.com/95120186

After many tests, it's not working. I try to change the parameters values but no change, except for the Wave Height and it makes some artefacts.

Here the results and my parameters :

    Can you help me ?

    Thank you !

Hello, can you check which Phoenix revision you are using? It's located in the Phoenix FD menu -> About Phoenix FD.

Usually I have to scale the Oceantex quite a bit (by 1000 or something larger) as it produces much too small waves for my scenes.
        Kind regards, Wolf S./K.

I find that when the scale is in meters, the standard wind values is working fine. If its on cm for instance, you would have to up the wind 100 times, etc.

There is a "meter scale" parameter, but we can add also "units/; like for the simulator if this makes more sense.
