  • V-Ray for Sketchup 7.1 and 8

    Hi everyone,
I'm new member and have couple of questions regarding V-Ray for Sketchup.
    1. What is the newest version of V-Ray compatible with Sketchup 7.1/8?
    2. Is it legal to buy second hand V-Ray license and would Chaos group provide support for such license?
    3. If it is legal, do I need to transfer license and what would be the cost of license transfer?

    1. Technically our latest release should work with Sketchup 8 - but I really advise against using such an old version of sketchup because many big improvements have been made in the last few years
    2. I would advise against buying second-hand licenses, as far as I know we don't allow this and have no means to handle transferring ownership but you can try contacting sales@chaosgroup.com if you wish to investigate this further

      Thank you Joe!
I have read on another forum that some EU ruling made second-hand licenses legal and that Chaos group allows ownership transfer so I decided to check here first.
Another question, if I buy new V-Ray 2.0 licence (for Sketchup) does it include both 32bit and 64bit version? Do I have to buy it from local reseller (Croatia)?

You will have access to all the installers we have, which include 32bit sketchup 8/2013/2014/2015/2016 and 64bit 2015/2016. This is why we urge people to not use old versions of Sketchup - 64bit Sketchup is a relatively new thing, it only exists for 2015 and 2016.

We generally urge people to use their local resellers to purchase V-Ray as Chaos Group does not do direct sales at the present time
