  • VRay clipper and VRay toon don't co-op well

so ... here's the result that I got in a random test while i was messing around at work and it kind'a wasn't what i expected

is there any way for the clipper to affect the toon effect too ?

It's a known issue, I hope to have it fixed in the hotfix next week.

    Best regards,

is there a way to work around that ?
i guess just cutting the geometry myself would do the trick, but can i achieve the toon effect in a shader (guessing that would work)?

I found that mapping the V-Ray Toon opacity slot with a map based on the material ID can do the job.
Here is a screenshot of the setup i made:

i tried setting it up in blender (since thats the solution we use at work) but i'm having some trouble with that, as the multi ID map seems that is not affecting the opacity at all

Thanks for the workaround. It also work if you change the material id inside the clipper

                    Hi,

I am having this exact same issue and it appears that the suggested work around no longer works? Is there another solution that does? Thanks.
