Hi, since the topic was left around 2006, i decided to ask directly here.
In 3 Months or so, me and 2 friends will start a project. I am in charge of the design part and i need to learn how to bake high quality textures.
For maya, I am used to render with Vray. I would say i am an intermediate user, that knows what some parameteres do, but ignore some others.
Anyways, I did a scene, but my lightmaps didnt look near as good as my normal render.
1. I can´t find anywhere ressources to learn how to bake with vray in maya, free or to buy. Isnt there really any modern tutorial online available for that? (i found some for 3dMAx, but before I give up and give it a try, i wanted to ask here).
parallel i read lots of stuff, what i didnt understand incluiding, having multiple uvsets, some offsets in the uv´s, real time and no real time render (radiosity), choosing between bruteforce, lightcache, etc. so the topic seems to be kind of huge.
2. I intend to do bake textures for inside and outside architecture, and then display them in webgl. So maya + vray are the best quickest more efficient solution? or is there any other combination of software more suitable for this pourposes?
Thanks for the infos!
