Vector Surprise issue?

So, I've read quite a few people complaining about Vector Displacement Maps not working on GPU. Funny enough for me it's the opposite!
On CUDA vdms work normally, but when I try to render with CPU I get no result at all.

Does anybody know the cause of/solution to this?

UPDATE: Weird, so it's not a CPU issue. On Vray RT it works well, both CPU and GPU, whereas on Vray Adv the render result is all messed up. Any ideas?
