  • Demo version to License server still shows watermark

After installing our license server on another machine and being able to located it via the IP:30304 address and showing it running on our local computer, when rendering a test in Maya we still get the V-Ray watermark.
Does anyone have any idea how to check if its accessing the license. The only way for us to check is to go by the watermark being there.

Also, is there a rendermanager software included for distributing to our render nodes we have on the other machines?

We were finally able to resolve it by deleting all Chaos Group folders and uninstalling the dongle software which had a hidden service running. Now the watermark is gone. Still interested to hear if it shows you that it is licensed in some kind of an 'about v-ray' tab.

V-Ray Demo version will always generate a watermark. Which exact build are you using?

reaching the license server on another machine via web browser doesn't mean that V-Ray (on the main machine) is looking for license there. This is just a check that on that particular remote machine you have a license server running and the available licenses. In order to force V-Ray to look for license there you need to add the remote machine IP in the V-Ray license server information window: https://docs.chaosgroup.com/display/...nses-Windows.3

You can always stop the V-Ray license server service : https://docs.chaosgroup.com/display/...nses-Windows.2
no need to uninstall the dongle software. But still I can't see how this will remove the watermark. If you are using an official version and you don't have licenses you will get a "Could not obtain license" error. In another hand if you are using demo version you won't need license to render and you will get a watermark.

If you are able to render without getting errors you are licensed. Except if you are using Demo version which doesn't requires license.

If you want to render one image on many machines you can use our Distributed rendering without using managers. https://docs.chaosgroup.com/display/...uted+Rendering
But if you want to render animation or sequence of frames (one frame per machine) you can then use Autodesk Backburner or every other render manager.
