    Hi every one,

this is my first post here.

I want to ask : is it possible in Vray for Rhino to bake light maps as in Vray for 3DSMax ?

    thank you

    Hi mfhadla
Welcome to the V-Ray for Rhino community!
Unfortunately, we could not bake light map in V-Ray for Rhino yet. It is in our to do list.

We wrote V-Ray 3 for Rhino from the ground up and we will have the ability to add features faster than ever. I'm not sure if we are going to be able to have bake for the first release of V-Ray 3. It might be possible that we do not have it by that time yet. But how I mentioned before, this is something that we are looking forward to add in the future.

We don't have a fixed date yet for the final release of V-Ray 3 for Rhino, but we are close to start an open beta soon.

              Hi,

are there any news on baking lightmaps/ render textures to an object? I'm currently looking into exporting 3D-PDFs/ using web based 3D viewers to present models to my clients. The ability to bake rendered textures would greatly enhance the end user experience. If this is not on the wishlist yet, i think it would make an important addition...

              Best,
              Lukas

                Hello,
Texture baking is something the dev team is interested in implementing but not on their current to-do list. Exploring possible solutions will happen after the upcoming major update is released.
Whether a script will be provided or it will be a fully fledged feature is yet to be determined.

                Kind regards,
                Peter
