Hi,
I own a perpetual licence (purchased as a student) Rhino v5 plus VRay (1.5) probably in 2011 or 2012. Now I have issues with running it on my two computers with the following specifications.
HP Omen Laptop (new since this year):
CPU - i7
RAM - 16 Gb
Video - Nvidia Geforce GTX 960M 4 Gb
Dell XPS 8700 Desktop (old since 2013):
CPU - i7
RAM 16 Gb
Video - Nvidia Geforce GTX 650 Ti 1 Gb
On both computers I've Windows 10, including the recent feature update since last week. After trying to run VRay on Rhino on either computer, it doesn't make sense and does not turn out well much - I am struggling to familiarise with its options/presets panel, material panel and so on, whilst reading online manual that is for version 2.0 or above - I cannot find manual that is for older version like I have - 1.5. It is very difficult to calibrate the different settings found on both versions as I'm trying to synchronise between the guidelines found in the manual for higher version and the actual settings in lower version of my current program - such as using sky conditions, sunlight and adjusting gamma - it is fruitless because rendering time is extremely slow and all I get is extremely white canvases as render results. And when I download from ChaosGroup website using my login details, the version 1.5 which was updated last in 2012 and no longer supported is only there... why can't there be version 2.0 as fully available? I only see v 2.0 for demo purposes only and not within my licence.
So I hereby ask, if it is possible and am I eligible for free upgrade?
