  • Mac version?

Hi, is a release for Mac planned for the future? Some of us out there still use Mac...

    Hello,

It's up to the management to decide - for now I really can't really tell you much about it.

We don't plan an official Mac version for the time being.

I'm sorry to hear that. I can't really understand Chaos Group's position in this regard. True that the vast majority of studios are on Linux or Windows, but Mac is still a popular platform among freelance compositors and sometimes among CG generalists, especially here in North America. I hope you guys reconsider this at some point in the future; a tool like V-Ray for Nuke would be a valuable asset to the entire VFX Mac user base.

          Thanks,

Our position is simple - V-Ray for Nuke is a very niche product; from our experience so far, supporting Mac OS requires an inordinate amount of work compared to its user base and our expected return of the invested efforts.
