I am a noob to phoenix so I'm sorry if this is a dumb question. I am having a problem adding detail to my smoke that is revealing a coffin. I have the simulation bound to the coffin as it animates in to the scene. I also have the coffin set to be a matte object so i can just have the smoke element and composite everything in nuke. I have the simulation looking like I want it to with the cold smoke rolling off the coffin after it appears revealing the coffin. So I am now trying to do a resimulation to add detail to the smoke. but now the "smoke" i am guessing is "sticking" to the coffin even though the detail that the resim is adding is exactly what i wanted. It appears in the render too. When i turn off resimulation and render, it looks like i want, minus the detail I'm looking for with the resim. Also I am using simple smoke as my smoke opacity and have changed it to smoke and adjusted the curve to see if this would make a difference and it does not remove the smoke that is attaching itself to the object. Help please, i am up against a deadline with this and need to get it out the door.

Resimulation making smoke stick to object...

So i have figured out that if i check the coffins phoenix properties and disable the "clear inside" checkbox and do a sim, i get the same result in base sim and resim. If enable it, the sim looks correct but the resim doesn’t. It looks like it is "sticking" to it, but actually I am seeing the object full of smoke. So i guess the resim is not clearing out the smoke inside the object like the base sim does. Any thoughts on how to fix this?

Whew, Im glad to know it wasn't something i was doing. I frustrated myself trying to figure that out. I ended up just upresing the sim and adjusting for the changes in motion and pushed it out the door. Thanks for taking time to get back to me and fix it, I'm sure i will need to do something similar in the future.
