  • Help Rendering product images for website

    Hey guys,

I've created our products in Sketchup and saved each one as it's own component.

What i'm now trying to do is simply render them out in vray from the same view point (angle) against a plain white background with a simple drop shadow.

This will hopefully give the website a nice clean uniform look.

The trouble is I'm having great difficultly achieving this and wondered if someone could please provide some tips or even a template for me to study?

    Thank you in advance,
    Rich.

    Hey Rich,

I think I understand what you are looking to achieve. There is a batch render tutorial for 2.0 you might want to check out: https://docs.chaosgroup.com/display/...y+Batch+Render

I think having an example of the look and feel you are trying to achieve might help myself and the rest of the forum hone in on how to recreate that look. Maybe some photographic examples of a studio environment you are trying to emulate, or existing product photography?
    Best,

      Hello,

Yes, the batch rendering looks like it would be perfect once the environment is setup.

I'm struggling to recreate something like the following:

Just a plain white floor / background with simple drop shadow of the featured product.

Not having any lighting or photography background has me really stuck here and everything I try looks terrible, either too dark, washed out or losing all the detail in the products.

Hope this helps explain a bit better.

      Thank you.

I've put together a little example scene that isnt exactly like what youve shown me in your example but comes close. It should get you a little closer to what you're looking for in terms od set up.

          Hey Ted,

Thank you very much for this.

I'll go through it and try to adapt for what I need.

          Cheers,
          Rich.

I suppose it could be your graphcs card that is failing.

What happens when you print out one of the corrupted images?
