  • Light Transmitting wall Panel

    Hello,

I've been trying to create this Light transmitting wall material like this.

    https://www.kalwall.com/kalwall-products/facades/

I'm having a lot of issues with the double skin, the fact that the material has a thickness means 2 skins. I have tried a lot of ways but can't seem to get it right for both interior and exterior shots.

I can't really get the light to transmit through the material without affecting its opacity which is essentially what I need. (there is probably a way I don't know about). I can get the interior looking great using emissive values on the interior but then the exterior daylight renders look like the panels glow. When I use light transmitting materials the effects of transmission are reduced due to the two skins.

I can probably do this using two textures for inner and outer skins or double faced skins with inward facing and outward facing, but I'm not sure how that would work. I also think that using a single material would be better.

I've been nagged by this since October last year and cant get over it. Could really use some help if anyone has any ideas I could try out?

My goal is to have a material that can be used for both night and daylight renders so the material must work in both directions. I generally don't like to ask but I'm really frustrated with this one.
