  • Use TX Flag in render settings

    Hello,

Is it possible to add a flag in the render settings to check for an existing TX or tiled EXR at render time? Seeing as how Maya 2017 comes with Arnold's TX Manager it has become very easy to convert files to TX. I came from using Arnold a lot in the past, and it is really convenient in Arnold to have it automatically grab the tiled versions.

    thanks for considering this.

It's been requested before, but we don't have this option right now. You'll just have to use the .tx files directly for the time being, or simply the original file, whichever is appropriate. V-Ray does not specifically insist on using .tx files.

    Best regards,
    Vlado

Thanks for reply Vlado, are you able to speak to if this feature is in the roadmap for future versions?

I don't think we need to do anything about it. Maya will have native .tx support at some point for the viewport, which makes such a feature somewhat pointless.
