  • Vray 3.4 proxy material problem

Why now in this trial version, when you load a proxy you don't get if id colored so you can know where to add the textures. In beta or in version VR2, when the proxy was imported and render it for the first time, each interior component had a different color. I am having this problem with proxy created in VR 3.4 beta, VR 2 and also proxy created in this trial version.
When I create the proxy for the first time, in the remaining/existing scene it will render OK with all the materials in place. If I create a new SU file and import the just created proxy, the rendering will get default SU material on the proxy object and will not allow me to apply the proxy material.

    Any thoughts!?

I am having this exact same problem.
Imported proxies show up white in the render, no matter what materials are assigned to the MultiMtl that loads with it.
This doesnt happen if you create the proxy and replace the group in the scene.

same problem here. Any fix or workaround?
As a landscaper 80% of my scene is proxy.

When i copy old proxy's from a scene made in 2.0 or beta it works.

Create a new proxy in the latest version and the different materials stay white in render.

Chaosgroup send my colleague this temp. workaround:

"In the meantime, as a temporary workaround, simply open the proxy component in edit mode, then select the object and apply the Multi material to it."

          I tried and it works!

In my case, I had to uncheck the opacity for each sub-material because they shown like transparent in the material asset preview
