If you simply wish to add white background without it affecting the actual render output, open Asset Editor > Settings > Environment, turn off the Background map checkbox, set the color to white and increase the intensity to around 50 (experiment with the value). Then, enable Environment Overrides > GI and paste the mask from the Background map slot.
You might also want to turn on the Reflection and Refraction overrides as well, supplying them with the same Background map. (you can drag&drop with your cursor textures from one map slot to another).
Alternatively, you can use a dome light with no texture and white color. In this case you would need to deselect the light's "Affect Diffuse/Specular/Reflections/Alpha" and "Shadow" checkboxes.
Let me know if you need any further assistance!
Kind regards,

Greetings,
Would you please explain the above in a rather hammer-way (pictures?)?
I would truly appreciate it.
I cannot find the place to 'increase the intensity to 50, etc. All I can obtain trying your guidance is a black background.
However, please note when the background intensity value is high, the anti-aliasing filter can't process the edges between geometry and background, resulting in some undesired jaggedness.
In such cases, it is advisable to use the exposure controls in the VFB to bring out the background and thus preserving the image filtering.
