  • Farm renders licence question

Farm rendering seems to only work with the full workstation install and not the render slave install. Is there a license limit on using the full install as a render slave?

    Maya 2016 SP5
    Phoenix FD 3.03.00
    Vray 3.52.02
    Deadline 8.0.6.5

I usually use volume grids but the ramp shaders and luminance scales are so vastly different between Volume Grid and Phoenix

    Hey,

If you are not using Maya in GUI mode and you are not simulating, rendering should not consume any licenses. If you have any issues, please do share. The render slave install type only installs the Phoenix plugin for V-Ray StandAlone, so if you are not using vrscense but full maya scenes instead, you will indeed need a full ADV install, but this should be all that's needed.

    Cheers!
