  • Changing the time renders black

    Hi,

I'm really a noob at this, but I have done the Quick Start Interior, Exterior and Materials, so I can basically know some settings. I have followed the Intro tutorial too where I tried to change time and see it in the interactive render.

Those tutorial samples have been premade, I tried to do from scratch and I can't replicate them. The render is black, although the sun is enabled. When I tried to correct this by adjusting the environment: Environment>Background>map button>sky , the sky is black or dark grey. The render is black. So I save and load the render settings from the Exterior tutorial. This time the sky background map looks white and the render is quite nice with shadows and sky background. Now, if I change the time in the sketchup shadows time / date slider, the sky goes black. Also, it remains black no matter what time I enter including the original time where it rendered nicely.
Is this a bug? Or something wrong with my sky map? I don't think it's the extensions because they are also enabled when I do the tutorial scene.

    Working on a:

    Win 10 home
    i7-7700
    16Gb ram
    gtx 1050ti

    Thanks.

      Hello,

Could you please save a simple project using Extensions > V-Ray > Export > Pack Scene and send it at support@chaosgroup.com with simple description of the issue?
There are a few possible causes for what you are experiencing and only one of them is actually a bug. My colleagues need to take a closer look to be able to tell you what would fix it.

      Kind regards,
