  • vray displacement problem, can't get a good high res result

the first two images was rendered by Redshift and arnold. result looks pretty ok.

but when comes to Vray , I can't get a clean model edge.

final image shows my subdiv and dis settings. I think the settings are high enough to produce a good high res model.

I tried to set the displacement type to normal displacement, just the same .

it looks like you are using 2d displacement, but I am not sure that's what you want and if the other renderers also use 2d displacement. In the case of vray if you use 2d displacement, texture resolution = quality. Its currently set to 256 which is pretty low. While using 2d displacement the subdivs have no effect at all. Switch to 3d and try that with controlling edge length and subdivs and you should get similar result to other renderers.

yes,I'm using 2d dis ,and of course I'm using the exactly the same displacement map for different renderers. Others looks ok, what means the dispalcement map is ok
