Hello,

This issue is not V-Ray related.
You might want to try using the "Import as single mesh" settings in 3ds max or exporting the object from Rhino as another file type.
There are plenty of .obj import issues being discussed in the Internet, so you might want to try any of the already existing solutions if mine are not of any help.
