Is it just me or anyone else thinks that Image uploads should be open to all users, I mean with posting rights, some vray free and demo users still post there their works .

Who's talking about 1 grand? The EDU version costs a little over $200

Email chaos group about it. Featurewise the EDU version is the same as the advanced version, but I guess you can't use it for commercial projects. And you have to provide a student ID or some other proof that you are in fact eligible for an EDU license. I'm sure they will provide you with all the details if you email them.
