  • VISMAT Imports Are Dark

Did something change in VRay 3 that would effect vismat imports from various sites? No matter what site I use, my imports are WAY darker than their previews. And in a lot of cases, these are materials I had no issue with in VRay 2. Is there some setting I have wrong? Or is it something related to the way the materials were created that doesn't translate to VRay 3 right? See below. The images show My Result were taken immediately after importing the vismat file, with no altering at all.

    Hello,

The difference in appearance is due to the changes to gamma calculation that have been adjusted in V-Ray 3.4.
To read more about the differences between V-Ray 3.4 and its previous versions, please visit https://docs.chaosgroup.com/display/...vious+Versions

For backwards compatibility, an option called "Linear workflow" is available in the Material Layer Options section.

    Kind regards,
    Peter

You can use the second button at the bottom of the V-Ray Asset Editor's Material list is called "Import .vrmat file".
