  • Sketchup 2016 & 2017 hangs on open after installing VRay 3.4.04

I've been having this issue for maybe the last two or three versions - during 3.4 beta testing, everything worked fine. Prior to installing VRay, Sketchup opened normally. After installing the program hangs for at least 15 minutes before I close it (I'm opening a blank file). I have uninstalled VRay and now Sketchup opens normally again.

    I'm running:

    Windows 10 Pro
    Intel i7-3930K
    16Gb RAM
    Quadro 2000D
    Samsung 840 Pro SSD

    Thanks for any help!
    Pete

Oops... sorry - problem solved. I needed to be connected to my office VPN in order to connect to the license server, I guess. After connecting, everything runs fine.

FYI I've had this issue to. If I'm not running my VPN from home, then I can't check out a license and SKP will just hang. In the short term, I hope Chaos will implement a timeout function so that after 30s, the "no license found" error box can come up and it won't totally bork your SketchUP. In the long term, I'm hoping for online based licenses like some of the other products

If you are away from your home network, you can borrow licenses for offline use in advance.
More info about this is available at https://docs.chaosgroup.com/display/...or+Offline+Use

        Kind regards,
