  • Hello

Hello, i'm a vray user, the company where i work decided to buy it because i show them some of the work that can be developed with it.

I have learn a lot from this forum, and now that the access to post is limited to those who have a purchased license of the software, i think it will lose very valuable people...

I do not agree with piracy, but if it was not for it, maybe i would not have know Vray and then make the choice of buy this particular pluggin.

The reason of this words are only to say that i am sad that lots of people that are very talented with vray and CG in general, are going to post they works and answers in another forums...

And another thing... aren't you going to take away also the previous posts of the unregistered people??

    Greetings from los Cabos!!

    (sorry for bad english...)

      Two things

      1. You can link your acount to your work license

      2. Most of the people that helped out are still here.

Oh, this is what I use to tell those policemen who try to stop me in my stolen Porsche 911:
"I do not agree with piracy, but if I had not stolen this car I would not have known Porsche at all and then I could not make a decision whether I should buy one ore not.

The reason of this words are only to say that I am sad that lots of people who are very talented Porsche drivers (and sports cars in general) are going to drive in another country (where policemen are bribale)."

Of course there are differences between a peace of stolen hardware and software. But this peace of software is cheap enough - even for students.

          Best regards,
          Mirko

hehe very sarcastic answers here, but like i said, i do not agree with piracy of software or stolen porsches...

My post is not to support warez users, but like i said, theres people that has contributed to this forum, therefore, to this software (or like i said, also take away all the previous post of those unregistered car stealers), like you say vray is not a expensive pluggin, so in certain cases why not take advantage of those testers, instead of making it a matter of money...

Anyway, i agree with those who say that here must still the most valuable people, and i am sure that some of the ones that used warez are gonna return very soon.

Greetings from los Cabos, Mexico, a country where cops are more bribale...

I don't think it is a matter of money... I think it is a matter of supporting users that have already paid. Vlado and Peter want to support their users and this is a great place for that to happen. At this point, they are so busy, that they only want to support their legitimate users so that they can maximize their customer satifaction. Supporting warez users would mean taking time away from legitimate users.

As for those that have the Demo or Free version... they have a free gift and can use it to learn or even use. They will have access to the knowledge that is collected on this forum, and they can post, if needed in this Public forum.

Closed forums are a very legitimate way to opperate a support forum. Splutterfish uses it, Cebas (I think) uses it, so does Pixar.

I hate to say it, but you may have been spoiled by the free support and free software... as the saying goes.... the gravy train stops here.

I still find it hard to believe that people will admit to being thieves and then complain about the new forum rules.

Rolojero, there is no difference in stealing a Porsche or a piece of valuable software. It's still stealing! You are taking money away from the people who developed the software. Just because you are trying to learn the program does not justify your or others actions.

Like was said earlier, steal a car and then explain to the police that you believe its alright because your just learning how to drive but as soon as you learn you intend to buy one.

Wasn't there some dude in China a while back that demanded that he get technical support even if he was using hacked software? I think he explained it as in China it is not illegal to use hacked software if you are a student, so, since he was not breaking the local law, he should be getting technical support. Was pretty funny.

Well i don't want to look that i'm supporting piracy, but looks that is gonna be a dificult task to achieve...

But my idea was to post some words saying that creativity and talent is more valuable than money (talent to steal is gonna say Mirko here, well i win you the hand, hehe!!) but lots of times unregistered users give me tips and models and materials and settings and then i did't think of them as creepy criminals, that wheren't worth of any consideration...

I'm not asking to let them free post, anyway is you forum and you are free to do whatever you want with it. But before get them banned, why not select some people to be testers or moderators??

yeah sure genius.... give prices to thiefs!!! (damn!! even i am doing sarcastic out of my post...)

If your work bought vray, just find out what the login name is and email requesting access to the private forum....

I dont see what your problem is unless you cant do this?

I think it was a good move to separete any potential conversation about illegitimate versions of vray and dump it all in this public section as it removes the clutter and BS generated by people who have paid $0
