  • vray dr spawner - max keeps crashing

hey, I have vray on many machines at work, and when they are not in use, I use them as render slaves with vray DR. it usually works, but yesterday I was trying to set up some of them, and 2 computers just won't do it. I launch vray dr spawner, max opens on background, crashes, opens, crashes, infinitely. on two machines it does the same thing, while on the others it works just fine. I didn't do anything different, what could it be?

    thanks

Have you used those two machine before successfully? You can try and run a regular BB job between the main machine and those two, then run the spawner again and test distributed rendering.

Hi. I have never had any problems with the vray distributed rendering system before.
But now the rendernodes cannot obtain a license.

      [V-Ray] Could not obtain a license (-2) .

      I haven't seen this before.

I have currently tried reinstalling vray with different version and everything.
I have also tried sending through backburner, but i get the same error. could not obtain license (-2)

Have any of you guys seen anything related before?
Well, well. It could have been worse.

Can you review the license settings on the problem computers - https://docs.chaosgroup.com/display/...cense+Settings
They should be pointing to the IP address/hostname of the computer that has V-Ray license server installed.

You can also try accessing the license server status page from the problem computers' browser - http://IP_address_of_the_license_server:30304 to see if the connection to the server is OK.
If unsuccessful from this computers - check if TCP port 30304 is opened for in/out traffic in Windows (or other) firewall if it's enabled.
