  • Rhino crashes every time i try to render with Vray

Hi there, I have a problem that I cannot solve by my self so I hope some of you can help me in some way. I?m working in Rhino 5.0 with Vray 2.00.23938. The problem is that whenever i try to render one of my scenes it gets to about 10-15% of building light cache and then it chrashes. I?ve uploaded a screenshot showing my error window and one showing my computer specs.

    Hello, Einar,

What render mode are you using? Production? RT CPU/GPU?
Has this ever occurred with other projects? Is there any abnormal resource usage prior to the crash?
Could you please update to the latest V-Ray 2.0 for Rhino build - 2.00.26563 and see if the crash is still reproducible afterwards?

In case it is, I can offer two courses of action:
    1. Use V-Ray > Pack Scene and send the archived project (together with a link to this forum thread) at support@chaosgroup.com for investigation.
    2. Alternatively, you are welcome to try v3.4 and see if issue is reproducible there as well.

    Kind regards,
    Peter

Hi Peter and thank you for your quick response. I?ve attached few screenshots showing my settings and how my computer is reacting when I start my rendering. I cannot access the link to the update you sent me.

        Thank you for the screenshots!
However, they did not reveal enough info to determine the cause of the crashes.
To access the latest V-Ray 2.0 for Rhino version (2.00.26563), you would need to log in with the Chaos Group account which holds your active V-Ray 2.0 for Rhino license.
I was just informed that you are evaluating v3.4. In this case, please do a test render and reply back with the result.

If the issue is still reproducible, the best way to assist you would be if you could supply us with the project file (V-Ray > Export > Pack Project) at support@chaosgroup.com either directly or through a file-sharing service of your choice.

        Kind regards,
        Peter

Thank you for your help Peter. I got a trial to Vray 3.0 through a local 3d assistance and when we are done with the project I have deadline on next friday we are upgrading to it.
