  • color mapping vs lens effect

hi, how do you guys apply vray lens effects in your workflow? I can't find an efficient way to do so. I'm so used to exponential color mapping on my interiors, but unfortunately you just can't do lens effect with exponential color mapping, as it works best in linear. doing reinhard 50/50 sort of works, but I still have to tune down all my white materials' reflections so they won't overexpose. lens effect work best with linear color mapping, but everything in my scenes will explode brightness, I'd have to adjust everything and get used to applying a lot less reflection into everything, and I don't have time for that between my deadlines.

do you use vray lens effect on your everyday work? please share your workflow experience!

use reinhard on VFB, not in render settings.

wow. like setting anything in render settings, then setting mode to none, and then just adjusting via vfb's exposure rollout?
