  • changes in vray 3.4

why there is not any sampling section for lights in vray 3.4? there was a sampling section in vray 2 for all of the lights.
maybe i did not search enough, but i could not find image sampler type section (adaptive dmc, adaptive subdivision) in vray 3.4 setting. is there any alternative for it in vray 3.4?
and maybe again i did not search enough, but why i could not find any topic about changes in new version of vray? (i'm talking about changes and deleted sections and alternatives for these parts, not new features)

thanks in advance for your time and answers

The method in which render quality is handled in V-Ray 3.4 has changed. This process is now much simpler and straight forward. The local Subdivs parameters in materials, lights and camera have been hidden and will no longer have an effect.

Adaptive DMC sampler with optimized parameters is used at all times.
Local Subdivs parameters no longer have effect. Instead the subdivs are globally set to accommodate for a more streamlined and faster workflow.
The exception is Caustic Subdivs which still remain as a locally set parameter for each V-Ray light in your scene.

Further info about the changes between v2.0 and v3.4 you can find at https://docs.chaosgroup.com/display/...vious+Versions . Be sure to look up "Quality Setup" section.

      Kind regards,
      Peter
