  • Face me components and shadows

    I notice that V-Ray does not cast shadows from face-me / billboard components obeying the 'shadows face sun' feature in Sketchup. I found a post here from 2009 detailing this issue but nothing else later, and no solution.

    It would be a huge benefit for me if this functionality could be incorporated into VRay. Previously I used Shaderlight, which did have this ability, so presumably it is not technically impossible to implement it in an external renderer. Is there any chance of seeing it in Vray?

    Hardware:
    Core i7 6850
    Nvidia M4000
    64Gb RAM
    Dell P715Q

    Hi,

    Kindly note that the 'Shadows face sun' feature will not be supported with V-Ray and shadows will always be rendered physically correct relative to geometry and light source.

      @georgi.georgiev Is there a way to at least make the face-me components following the camera when scenes are set, for example, to turn around face-me components ?
      Thank you.

        Since V-Ray adopts SketchUp's viewport, the Face-me components will be rendered as seen in each scene

          @georgi.georgiev Thanks for your reply.

          I have setup a few scenes And proceeded with the batch rendering. I have not been able to have the face-me components match each scene. Is there a hidden setting for this to happen ?
          See at the link below and SKP attached.
