  • Light cone angle

Hi. I'm trying to match light cone angle with a camera field of view (mulitple). I have my camera FOV (39,3 degrees), but the cone angle in light setup is different scale? I can normalize but what number is 180?
A "normal" angle would be easier to work with

    Anyone from CG?

Maybe this direct works: _SetSpotlightToView It's on the render menu here and can be used to copy a camera setup from one Rhino task to an other. But I'm not sure it's a bonus tool I installed in the past.

The Cone and Penumbra angles are measured in radians. FoV in degrees. You would need to convert the values in order to match them.

            So 1 radian is 57,29578

180 degrees is 3,14 radians (pi).

Can we agree its not very intuitive ? Or is there a particular workflow where radians are more relevant?

              V-Ray internally works in radians.
Working with radians is not quite inutitive indeed. There is already an internal discussion about changing the interface options for these angles to degrees.

              Kind regards,
