  • Question regarding mapping a mask on birth object...

I'm using a liquid simulator (Phoenix 2017 / 3DS Max 2014) to birth water droplets on a drink can as per Hammer Chen's blog:

I'm linking the Stucco bitmap to a liquid source to create a mask on the can in order to birth small droplets. My question is, is there any way to map the mask on the can (through the liquid source) so the droplets appear evenly spread over the surface. Bearing in mind I already have a label graphic UVW mapped on the can surface. At the moment I'm adjusting the bitmap parameters, tiling, size etc with out getting a good result. Any thoughts on this would be much appreciated.

Hey, sorry for the late reply!

If you need special UVs for rendering which are not the same as the ones for simulation, I think you should just go with cloning the geometry - this will save you a lot of issues.

Hey thanks Sevtlin, for that suggestion. I'll give it a go.
