  • V-ray advanced for Max 7

I purchased V-ray Advanced and quickly found out that there is only a beta version available for Max 7, and this beta version says not for production use. So now I'm a bit worried that I erred in my choice.

Can someone tell me when there will be a production version available for Max 7?

And can you use the production version for Max 6 in 7? (although I already know that if you do a few dll's throw errors on start, toon being one of them)?

And finally does anyone use the beta version in production without issue?

    Thanks.

ALOT of people use the beta in production. Best thing to do is play around with it a little on some inconsequential max files and make sure that any of its issues aren't going to be a dealbreaker for what you need. Then when you can make a clean break of ANY current project, go ahead and start using the beta. Theres nothing really catastrophically wrong the the beta, its just small nagging bugs now.

theres a tut on www.vray.info on how to do just that. It involves copying your max folder to another location and other things.
