  • VFB icon scaling?

    Hello,

Is there an option I'm missing to change the size of the icons on the VFB window? They are very small on a 4k monitor and don't change size with windows scaling. In fact on anything above 150% for me the text of the VFB actually becomes somewhat illegible.

    Thanks for your time!

    Hi,

It is possible to change the scaling with the environmental variable VRAY_VFB_UI_SCALE. You could try setting a value of 2 or 3.

On a Windows machine, 'Environmental Variables' are created through the 'Advanced system settings' window.

On OSX it is not so user-friendly, so you could download the attached archive, unzip the file within and place it in /Library/LaunchAgents . Afterwards, restart the computer for the change to take effect.

VRAY_VFB_UI_SCALE is not listed. Should I add it to the list and input it's value?

Yup, just add a new environment variable with the name VRAY_VFB_UI_SCALE and set it's value to what you want. (2 worked fine for me.)

Could you please tell what is your V-Ray's full version number?
Is the environment variable set for the user account used when opening SketchUp?
                What value have you used?

                Kind regards,
                Peter

This environment variable will affect only V-Ray 3 builds. I'm afraid there is no valid workaround for V-Ray versions 2.0 or older.

                    Kind regards,
                    Peter

                      Hi,

I'm working on a Windows machine with Rhino 6 VRAY 3 and a 3840 x 2160 resolution setting. My interface for VRAY is too small to click on (see attached). I downloaded the VRAY VFB UI SCALE and added a new environmental variable with a variable of 2. There were no changes. Am I supposed to drop the .plst file in a specific location or somehow run it?

                      Thanks,
                      Julian

                        Hi Jcallanta

Kindly note that the .zip attached to this thread is for OSX.

Since you are on a Windows machine, it is only necessary to create a new 'Environment Variable' with a 'Variable Name' = VRAY_VFB_UI_SCALE and set the 'Variable value' to 2 or 3
