  • DOs and DONTs when working with Phoenix liquid and animated mesh?

    Hey

Can we get a consolidated tutorial images/example scenes on how to deal with phoenix liquid and animated mesh?

Still don't understand "water tight" mesh

"Thin mesh", should we always apply Shell modifier?

    https://docs.chaosgroup.com/display/...LIPsimulation?

it must not be a plane or a deformed sheet of geometry and it must not have holes in it. In 3ds Max the easiest way to fix this is to apply a Shell modifier on the geometry
this mean i can only use primitives and cylindrical objects for animated simulations?

Think this can help new Phoenix FD users

    Hey,

Water tight means that the geometry must have a volume. If you imagine you fill that mesh with water, it won't spill out. Planes are not good because they don't have an inner part, so you must shell them. If you don't, the simulation might run okay, or might not, depending on how your object is oriented in space and what its shape is like. If you are not lucky, fire/smoke sims might have some areas where the fluid stops moving for no visible reason, and liquid simulations might have liquid or secondary particles bursting in jets from time to time.

    Basically that's all

    Cheers!
