  • V-Ray Proxy appearance

Hello, I need the help of our community. I have two questions:

    1. Is there any possibility of creating a V-Ray Proxy model where I am able to determine the low-poly textured object to replace the high-poly in the viewport and render only the high-poly object to be rendered?

    2. Is there any way to create a V-Ray Proxy model with a more similar shape with the original template and with applied textures?

    Thank you!

We have a couple of proxy export options that automatically create a simplified version of the object for the viewport - f.e. setting the "Preview type" parameter in the "V-Ray mesh export" window to "Refined Clustering (quality)". You can also specify a custom object to use for the viewport preview if you enable the "Specify preview mesh" checkbox and pick a mesh from the scene.

    Best regards,
    Vlado

      Thank you, vlado!
Is this a feature exclusive to the 3.6 version or I can find it in version 3.4 too? It works on SketchUp version?

It has been in Max for ages. For SketchUp, this is coming up in the 3.6 update in a few days.

Hi Vlado, sorry to hijack the 3ds forum! Is there a final release date for Vray for Sketchup 3.6 update? Thanks
